Book Character Interview: The Time Traveler’s Awakening

The Time Traveler’s Awakening

A Paranormal Romance
by USA Today Bestselling Author Anna Applegate

Evil has tipped the scales in the balance of time. Ember Brighton just doesn’t know it yet.

Ember’s family has been keeping a secret that will change her fate, and time itself. When a shifter with malicious plans goes on the warpath against Ember, she’ll need all the help she can get to stop him…even if that help comes from the mysterious, too sexy for his own good, Rane Andersson.

Book Character Interview

Today’s interview with two characters from the Souls And Shadows boxset is absolutely unique. I never met a Time Traveler before, and certainly not a vampire, either. But Anna Applegate made it possible for us to talk to both and I must say, for am vampire, Rane Anderson seems to be a decent kind of guy.

Of course, time-traveling Ember Brighton’s presence has a positive influence on him. Or is it possibble he’s not a bloodthirsty monster at all?

Let’s see what those two characters from „The Time Traveler’s Awakening“ have to say.

Q: May I offer you something to drink?

Ember: Tea, please!

Rane: Rum.

Q: I hope you had some time to recover from your last adventure in „The Time Traveler’s Awakening”. Tell me, what is your favorite relaxing pastime?

Ember: I don’t really know how to relax. I’m either running to my classes at med school, or volunteering at the hospital and working my internship! Life is not relaxing right now.

Rane: Relax? Well my dear, most sword fights relax me. Causing trouble for those who deserve it relaxes me too, and my crew.

Q: Where did you grow up? Do you have fond memories of your childhood?

Ember: I grew up with my parents in Philadelphia, in the same home we’re in now. They always encouraged me and allowed me to pursue my dreams. I’m very lucky.

Rane: Most of my childhood was spent on ships, learning to command a crew and fight.

Q: Whom or what do you really hate?

Ember: Hate? I’m not sure I hate anyone. If I did, it’d be anyone who would harm my family.

Rane: Thorvan and his no good som MacGregor. Especially now knowing he could harm Ember. No matter, I won’t allow him to be around much longer.

Q: What is your biggest fear?

Ember: Failing. At anything really. I don’t want to set out to do something and back down.

Rane: I have no fears, darling.

Q: What makes you smile?

Ember: Being with my family and helping others.

Rane: Fighting. And, unfortunatley for me, the auburn haired firecracker who stole aboard my ship brought a smile to my face.

Q: I’d love to hear about your future plans. Is there anything you can reveal?

Ember: Become a doctor. It’s been the goal for awhile now and I’m in the home stretch before my residency. So, fingers crossed for me! I have to say, things are a bit off – my mother has a new family friend around that is shaking things up in a strange way – they’re talking about … well unrealistic things. But I’m sure it won’t impact me … *looks off and bites her lip uncertainly*

Rane: Destroy MacGregor. And potentially run into a time traveler who had the guts to steal from me and kiss me like no other woman has ever kissed before. Wait … don’t put that last part in there. It’s not right to share what happened between us.

Thank you, Ember and Rane!

(Note: Rane Anderson is the most charming vampire I can imagine, and if I had to describe him, the words „swashbuckler“ and „swoonworthy“ were the first to come to my mind. But, as things are, I am glad he seems to have a tender spot for Ember and I can go on with my boring but secure way of life!)
