Book Character Interview
Welcome to our first interview with two characters from a Souls And Shadows novel!
Meet Iris and Emma Valka, the two witches from S.A. McClure’s mesmerizing „Spellbreaker“, a paranormal romance novel.
Q: May I offer you something to drink?
Iris Valka: Tea would be nice. Thank you.
Emma Valka: Hot cider, if you have it. Otherwise water is fine.
Q: I hope you had some time to recover from your last adventure in “Spellbreaker”. Tell me, what is your favorite relaxing pastime?
Iris: I spend a lot of time mixing new potions and testing out different herbs, but I had a choice, I’d spend the day wandering the woods with my sister, Emma.
Emma: Hunting. There is nothing like being out in the woods with only your bow and the world around you.
Q: Where did you grow up? Do you have fond memories of your childhood?
Iris: My childhood was…complicated. Since Grandmother Rel raised us, we didn’t have much contact without the rest of Dramadoon. I guess you could say we were pretty sheltered. But, if I had to pick a memory, it would be of spending winter evenings huddled around the fire. Emma and I would whisper stories to each other after Grandmother Rel was asleep.
Emma: Are you joking? My childhood was terrible. Grandmother Rel was a controlling, evil guardian and I resent that I had to live with her. The only bright spot in my memories is my sister, Iris.
Q: Whom or what do you really hate?
Iris: I hade when people lie. And, at the moment, I hate whoever sent those monsters to kill us.
Emma: Grandmother Rel.
Q: What is your biggest fear?
Iris: Losing my sister and the other people I care about.
Emma: Losing my sister, Iris.
Q: What makes you smile?
Iris: Being with Liam. Watching the animals turned newly human again rediscover their lives.
Emma: Hunting. And, strangely, the Szarmian warrior who is always following me around.
Q: I’d love to hear about your future plans. Is there anything you can reveal?
Iris: Wherever Liam is, I will find him. That’s the only plan I have right now.
Emma: I’m still discovering them for myself. I’m not sure where my newfound powers will take me, but I am excited to find out. Hopefully, I can help Iris find Liam.
Thank you, Iris and Emma! And, of course, a huge “Thank You“ goes to S.A. McClure, who established contact between us and the two witches.
